The Kota sarees originate from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in India. The Masuria people are the famed weavers behind these esthetically designed sarees. The weaves are made of pure cotton and the fine fibers impart translucency to the saree which makes it a breathable fabric. Furthermore, the body of the sarees have delicate square patterns formed by the wispy fibers, called "khats". These khats are the trademark of the dainty Kota sarees that are remarkably strong in spite of their sheer constitution.
